Summer Lovin' Layout!

Karla here today and I am so enjoying summer! Lots of time spent outside, we've done some camping, spent time at the local amusement park! And, of course a bit of scrappin'! I pulled out these pics from a camping trip a couple years ago and paired them with some BoBunny Boardwalk paper I picked up from the Scrapendipity truck. I also grabbed the sweet BoBunny ephemera pack that matched it for some coordinating embellishments!

I love the bright look of this paper and the colour combos - I even used it to cut my Summer Lovin' title.

Keeping with the Prima Paper Doll stamp theme from last week, I used Jeanne and paper pieced her outfit with the BoBunny papers after stamping her on a script paper pad.

The BoBunny ephemera pack came with some great summer stamps and I used the splash stamp and blue Distress Ink to stamp an outline behind my title as well as in the top right corner. I created the lines of white and gold by running my Tombow glue across the page and sprinkling with a glittery embossing powder, and I also used the same embossing powder to create a border around my 3 squares cut from the BoBunny paper pack.

I cut a banner shape and layered on a cute charm, also in the ephemera pack, tied with a little baker's twine.

Thanks so much for joining me today! I hope you are enjoying the sunshine wherever you are!

Fun Friday with Pam A Lightbulb Moment

Finally got to this project I have been wanting to try for a long time. Simple, really.
Assemble some basic starters. Sturdy clean burnt out light bulb, double sided tape, hot glue gun, mesh from....'garlic' with one end still intact, alcohol ink, some wire, burlap type rope, bits and baubles from the stash. Broken jewelry works great for hanging things.
Close up detail for the top of the bulb. First, Make a loop with about 5 inches of wire, feed ends your wire through the large cog, hook through the top of the mesh and wrap it back around the cog on both sides.  Feed the end through the small cog to secure the top. I used a dab of glossy accents to secure. You could possibly use a low heat glue gun.
Next I took the bulb turned it so the large part was to my mat, and dribbled ink down it in lines. Note, be careful, it is slippery. Dry it thoroughly before continuing to handle it.
For the basket, I double sided taped the screw in end and wound the string around it tightly. Securing at bottom with more tape.
Next I ran a line of tape around the largest part of the bulb. Trimmed the mesh so it just sticks to the tape. Covered it all with a 2 lee valley garden tags made of copper that I embossed. Note, I used old earrings to join the corners and hang a few baubles off of.

Drop by my blog any time to see what else I've been up to

Roastin' Marshmallows!

Karla back today, showcasing this sweet layout using the Julie Nutting Prima Paper Doll, Marisol. She comes with a simple little dress/undergarment on so that you can dress her up. I used the hat from the Jill doll and created her shorts and T-shirt, first using tracing paper over the doll's body so I could see the outline, and then cutting out the outfit and tracing around it onto patterned paper. I drew her flip flops on and coloured them in with Distress Markers.

The papers I used are from a BoBunny collection - the Roastin' Marshmallows title is actually a journaling card from a cut-apart sheet - and I love how the marshmallows are printed directly onto this 12x12 page!

I layered Marisol on a tag cut from more camping themed paper and added more papers on top from the cut apart sheet. I added some blue and pinks in with some bakers twine to match my cardstock and the dolls hat and shoes.

I recently got these adorable campers from a CTMH order and decided they'd be the perfect fit for this page - they gave it a 'Glamping' feel - because if you use a Julie Nutting doll it definitely adds some glamour to your project! I stamped them on watercolour paper and used Distress and Tombow Markers to watercolour them in before placing them on my page.

I hope you're enjoying  your summer - maybe with a little camping on the side! Thanks so much for joining me today!

POSTPONED Three Great Classes with Dianne July 27th and 29th

The newest stamps have arrived and Dianne is finally getting to teaching a class with these awesome girls!!
Dianne will be making 4 cards using Tombows to color! Selena always has a great selection of Tombows in these days so bring your markers and come color with us! (if you don't have Tombows and want to color, let me know!)
These cards are great for any occasion and at the class you can let Dianne know if you have a special occasion you need a card for, we can customize it!
If this date doesn't work for you, let Dianne know and she can do a mini class on another date!

10:30 am or 6:30
COST: $30 for 4 cards

Dianne has agreed to offer the
very popular FLOWER cards again! Since summer is slower and a lot of people are away, she is offering
BOTH classes at the same time. Just let Dianne know which ones you want to do, CLASS #1(4 cards) or CLASS #2
IF you choose to do both, you can do both classes for $50 instead of $56.

Repeat of the water coloring Penny Black stamps. We will be using distress markers, Tombows, distress inks, etc. A good variety of water coloring techniques will be used! This is a VERY good learning class on water coloring in different ways, with different products! $28
We will be making 12 mini note cards that are super easy but super fun!!! Again, a repeat class for those of you who missed it last time!
ONE stamp set, but 6 different flowers/leaves we will use! This class was so much fun and different than most as we make 12 mini cards which are super easy to go home and reproduce! Great little gift to take  if you are going to a summer barbeque!
This is also a great class if you have a younger child at home for the summer! SPECIAL OFFER!! If you bring a child they can do the class for $20 (or a friend!)

10:30 or 6:30
COST: $28
Bring a GUEST for an additional  $20!!!
