Fun Friday with Pam

Shiver Me Timbers!!!
Even though all the ghosts and goblins that use to live here have moved on. I still enjoy a touch of fright to delight.
I thought it would be fun to take a photo against this abstract picture backdrop. But, as you can see the details kind of disappear. So here are some close ups and photos against a white background.
 Ahoy !!
NOTE:The ships wheel was constructed with black foam core
and black pearl pins to form the handles.
Overhead view
Deck detail the skulls and bones are just $$ store bracelet disassembled and  hot glued to secure. I started with a 'ship shape bird house' made of balsa wood. Added a coat of Black Gesso and let it dry thoroughly overnight.  {okay, confession time, its been years, I have had this on the shelf for years just waiting for me to decorate it} For the skeletons, I used a heat gun and a pair of pliers to gently manipulate the joints and such, so they could be posed.
Everything is then cemented with a hot glue gun.

Halloween Home Decor House Tour!

Hi all my friends! Karla here today, and I thought I'd share a quick photo tour showing you my Halloween decorations. The girls were so excited to decorate for Halloween, but we definitely don't get too spooky!

Here's our mantel. I printed off a Halloween Subway Art printable last year on photo paper and placed it in a frame. Underneath I created a banner using my Cricut and stamped images. We hung a spooky chandelier and added a few more accessories. You can see the details on the banner in my post here last Halloween!

Looking in from the kitchen, you can see this fun sign from the dollar store.

I love this canvas I made last year with my Cricut! You can see all the details on this project here.

I placed it above a shelf, around the corner from my kitchen.

Last year at the Scrapendipity Make 'n Take we made Halloween tags with Holly and then framed them in this wooden frame that I painted black and stamped with a scroll stamp using gold ink.

I placed the tag sign in my entryway along with some pumpkin and fall flower decorations. You can even see the outline of our purple skeleton behind the curtains!

I have an Ikea shelf in my living room (with lots of toy bins in it!) that I decorated on top with a wooden shadow box with lots of vintage Halloween papers and stamps. I added the wooden witch sign and a yummy pumpkin candle from Bath and Body Works along with some other Halloween decor. You can find the details and close ups of the shadow box here.

On the hutch in my kitchen I added a few fall trinkets on top and a lantern and ghost candle holder to the shelf that holds my recipe books. I seem to use so many online recipes now that I've only kept my fav cookbooks!

Thanks so much for joining me! I hope this gives you some inspiration to use some papercrafting items in your own decorating. Even framing a cute Halloween card gives your space a personal touch!

Fun Friday with Pam, or...

The Ugly Truth about Santa pictures......
As a scrapbooker, I have the most difficult time with the Christmas photos. This one of my sweet grandchildren is no different....I mean look at that overloaded background. Santa photos are expensive....looks like this 'bad' Santa saved a lot on the backdrop.... I hid all the journaling so on the surface it looks just fine LOL. I could have cropped the dead reindeer and that really awful lump of white stuff off, but where is the fun in that?
That's right, I said it the elves were dipping a little too deep in the eggnog! And mom let him wear his Halloween shirt....I tell you the stuff I have to deal with some days.
Just pop the ornaments up to read what
I am really thinking when I look at this photo
I decided to add tags to the balls, because the note on the top to open just sounded awkward.....
