Metal Film Canister

Graphic 45... again. I can't Help it, I love their stuff! They have a metal film canister that I fell in love with a few months ago. As soon as I saw it I thot " Great place for my Grauman's Theatre pix!!! It took awhile to round then up, and then I cracked opened the tin...... the one hard thing about this project was making it with limited layers, so it fit back inside the tin!

first step was to add some "age" to it, a few drops of alcohol ink and a felt dabber,

spread it around, then did some dabs of another color and added some green acrylic paint.

I wrapped the bottom of the tin with Tim Holtz's film strip. I glued it down with Glossy accents. It's a great adhesive for this as it dries completely clear.

while that dries I inked the edge of all the pages with vintage Photo.

I used my printer to make the Title, but you could just as easily use thicker letters, or rubons.It was time to pick the cover picture.

which I changed my mind on, 4 times. Once it was glued down my decision was over!

since it was Grauman's it needed hand prints. Jolee's had some cute handprints.... but I wanted to make my own, so I got some of the ultra cool mold n pour! The purpose of this molding clay is to press an object into it and then pour one of many mediums and you have a little charm, or embellishment. But for my purpose on this project, I left it as a mold and voila I have handprints in "cement"

mix together, press image. I used a stamp, into the clay and wait til it sets.

for the next page I used the Maya Road tulle, I ran some sookwang tape along the back side, a thin one so it bent easily, peeled off the backing and then attached my tulle.

What is Grauman's without a Red Carpet? I used red velvet paper, and stamped the footprints with memento ink. The stamp is Stampers Anonymous. Since there was already a red velvet rope in the picture I placed the sticker from Reminisce right over top.

page 2, I stamped some images from the 7 Gypsies stamp set, Ephemera, punched out a few stars that I used throughout the book. added some little tickets cut out from the "My Favorite things" die, added a little award and a piece of film. All the pictures I used I tore the edges and inked with Vintage Photo.

a few more stickers from Paperhouse, stars and my favorite, the popcorn. For the background on this one I used distress ink over a 6x6 crafters workshop template.

there was a picture of popcorn on the sticker but making it fluffy is so much fun. I used the white liquid applique, 2 layers heated it to puff it up and dabbed yellow stickles on it.

the little tickets are the MFT die again and luckily for me there was a stamp in the 7 Gypsies set, that fits exactly!

7 Gypsies mini round hanger holds the mini tickets.

I needed a new title for the next part of me and Maddie's day. Ripped and inked some paper pieces and film strip and tucked them randomly around the photo. I stamped more images from the 7 Gypsies set. Such a versatile stamp set!

last page, and I had a few pictures left... so I made a flap! Used sookwang tape on the back of a piece of the velvet paper, and made a velvet hinge :-) The film strip is the handle to open the flap. I added a few footprints around the edge.

oh and surprise there is a pocket!

back page, no bling, just an end.

the lid has a photo, a few more stickers, stars and a film strip. I glued it with fabri-tac, and held in place while it dried so I could get a nice loop.

the bottom is lined with the last of the velvet paper, and the book fits!!!

Easter eggs galore

Hello all, I made an Easter double page layout for little and big Maddie. The feature item at Scrapbookers Paradise this time is Ranger products. That's a BIG list... so I chose some paper and distress inks to use, but there are so many items to choose from!

The paper line is Moxxie's Spring has sprung. And the solid cardstock is from the Tim Holtz "Ranger" distress collection.

I added some moss and glued some ribbon on the page where the ribbon was printed on the paper.

a little of embossing. I added some grasses behind the moss. And I used a "Ranger" heat tool :-) There are a few eggs scattered thru out.

These flowers are Prima, and they are much more peachy in real life. The photo made them quite orange?

I fussy cut the bunny out of the page, gave him some bendy ears, and a rounded back then pop dotted him back in place.

All the edges are distressed and inked with "Ranger" inks. The clip is 7 Gypsies and I attached a calendar to show the difference in years.

I fussy cut the bird out as well, snipped into the wings to give a feathery look, made a bird nest and pop dotted the bird back in place. Head over to Scrapbookers Paradise, and make sure to leave a comment to win your own Ranger's product. Go see Selena M's project too and see what she is up to.

A little foldout booklet

Ok, my last post was Massive! so I promise to do smaller ones...lol Here is a little fold out photo book that I made years ago, and thot I would re visit it with a new splash, and show all our wonderful readers. This would be cute for Valentine's day too you can make it into a card!

First step is to get 3 pieces of paper cut to 8x8.

You can use cardstock, or patterned paper, just make sure it is on the thicker side. I used a solid color to show you because it was easier to see the score marks without a printed pattern.

Score each paper corner to corner only once.

Then score at 4 inches across the middle and then the other way, so you have one diagonal fold and a cross thru the middle. Do this for for all three.
