Happy Monday my crafty friends. What a beautiful weekend. Hope everyone got out and enjoyed the summer weather.

Making a Splash Card Class with Crystal August 14

Making a splash class
Date: August 14
Time: 5:00-7:00
Cost: $25 plus tax

Come make a slash this summer using some of the latest summer releases. This class will have three cards including paper piecing, a shaker card and copic colouring. You will need either copic markers or pencil crayons for this class. Call the store at 403-455-6772 to reserve your spot.

SHARI'S CARD BONANZA

***Please note - the photo is just a representation of some of the projects being planned - there are many, many more to come!!!!

Shari is returning in mid August, and is planning a big day of card making. There will be at a variety of cards to choose from - you just have to choose which 3 cards you want to color. Cards will be available in the following mediums - Just Copics, Copics and Prismacolor(which can also be just Copics if you choose), Prismacolor only, and Inktense Pencils. Instead of offering multiple classes Shari is doing an all day coloring session from 10 am to 4 pm on Sunday, August 11.

Cards will be available to pre-order starting on August 6th - How you ask???? Once you have registered for the class the selection of cards will be sent out to each individual, and will be based on a first come, first served principal, but please remember the cards will not be available for pre-order until August 6th. So for the cost of $30.00 you will be able to choose any 3 cards you want based on the first come, first served principle. If there are any cards left after pre-ordering is completed, they will be available for purchase on class days. Please be aware that due to the multiple card mediums available a class supply list will not be available.

Copic Skin & Hair Class with Shari August 9

Bringing back this class that focuses on learning to color different skin types, and how to achieve curly and straight hair with style. You will come away from the class with lots of samples, and one finished card as shown. Bring your Copic markers and join Shari for an evening of coloring fun!

Everything Gina K!!!

In this class we will explore a variety of Gina K products including foils, foil mates, wreath builder, flocked paper and icraft transfer gel.

You will create three very different cards while learning to create with all the different Gina K products.

ALCOHOL INK CANVAS

Dianne has been playing and practicing to create a new technique that is very popular right now! The results are so beautiful with minimum supplies and creativity!! It is so much easy use different inks and "blow" them into an array of stunning colours! Bring your favourite alcohol colours for loads of fun! The colours she is using can be changed to any colour you want and she has lots of samples!

Fun Friday

I love trying new things. With that in mind please know that this is my first attempt using the Infusion powders. So, I will show you my honest attempt with this product. {Disclaimer~ I did not watch any how to videos before hand. Only looked at samples}

NOTE: I used a very sturdy 'resist' paper for stamping and embossing.

I do so love a new Fairy Stamp

This one was stamped with embossing ink then sprinkled with our very own Canadian,'Emerald Creek', Lapis Lazuli embossing powder. It has gorgeous deep indigo and gold highlights

Now those wings deserve a little extra detailing. I used an embossing pen to fill in all the white areas. This is a two part process. First add the base then the Kiss of the Fairy shimmer powder.

It has a gorgeous shimmer, the photo does not even do it justice.

Now comes the part I was dying to try. The 'Infusion Powder' Violetta. From what I understand, you just sprinkle it on then spritz.

Well SNAP, as soon as I hit it with the water, I realized I had used way too much powder. But, isn't that burst of color gorgeous?

I grabbed a piece of watercolor paper to try and blot some of the color off of the fairy card front. As you can see the photo on the left is the watercolor paper{brilliant and vibrant, but soaks in immediately} Next I used another piece of resist paper on the card, it is a lighter more malleable finish. Check in next week to see what I do with this little fae girl.
