A Flip Book for Allison!

Karla here today, and I have a flip book to share with you! These are just so fun to make when you want to play with different supplies and techniques. This is a book I swapped with a sweet girl, Allison - you can find her IG here with links to her YouTube channel - and she sent me the cutest flip book too! I used Project Life cards as my base and attached them with washi tape. I embossed a pretty sentiment with gold embossing powder, and used some soft pink crinkly ribbon to tie the outside. I love adding my recipients name on the front to personalize it even more!

Here's a look at all the pages I included. I added stickers, paper ephemera, handmade tags, 3x4 journaling cards as smaller flaps, stamps, doilies and sequins, along with some goodies for Ally to use!

Camping Pocket Page Layout!

Hi friends! Karla here today with a camping pocket page layout to share with you! This was the drive we took to get to our camping spot, which you can see two more layouts about in my post - here - and I wanted to document our journey there.

I used the Simple Stories Summer Vibes collection, which included some beautiful papers and cut apart journaling cards, and I even cut some elements out of the papers to use as embellishments along with some pretty sequins!

I love the pretty summer colours in this collection and this adorable camper!!

Relaxing at the Lake!

Karla here, and we've been having a wonderful time relaxing at the lake in Invermere the last couple days! I thought I'd share a Project Life page I put together using the Project Life app, my iPad and the Rhonna Designs app!

Amusement Park Fun!

Hi Crafty Friends! Karla here today, and even though I've been super busy since the kids have been off school, I wanted to share a Project Life page using the app on my iPhone. It's a good way to document as well as get in a bit of crafty time when I'm busy!

We are so lucky to live near Calaway Park, and take full advantage of it - usually weekly! It's a great place for us to meet up with friends and for the kids to get out and get some exercise.

Memo Board Teacher Gift!

Well, we're almost to the end of June - and that means teacher gifts! Karla here today, and while we usually give gift cards to the teachers, but I think it's nice to include a little something useful as well.  I saw this cute DIY tutorial on YouTube and thought it would be quick, cute, and within our budget. Erica had 3 teachers this year in preschool, and Amie wanted one for her teacher too!

We started by picking up four pretty 4x6 photo frames at the dollar store, along with a package of wipe off markers. We then chose 4x6 Project Life Cards - I liked these lined ones so you could easily write your message, 

We added a stamp to the top line with black ink, inserted it into the frame and tied some baker's twine through the little hole on the top of the marker to attach it to the frame.

Lastly, we wrote a little note on the memo board before wrapping it up.

Project Life with Karla!

Karla here today and thought I'd share Week 18 of my Project Life! I love embellishing my pages with diecuts from ephemera packs!

When I'm designing my pages I first lay out my photos where I think they'll fit and then choose journaling cards. After I decide where my cards will go I start adding things like diecuts from different ephemera packs. Some of my favs are the Simple Stories, Maggie Holmes and My Minds Eye packs right now!

I love layering and will often use patterned paper as a background instead of journaling cards, especially when I want to layer a small photo into a larger pocket. I love using 6x6 paper pads for this!

  I used gold accents throughout my Week 18 pages, but I don't mind mixing and matching patterns!

I love being able to journal in the Project Life app and then print the card out with my photos and embellish it when I put it in my album. 

Sometimes I will just use a piece of patterned paper cut to the pocket size without any embellishments. The nice thing about this hobby is being able to add as little or as much as you like!

Project Life With Karla!

Karla back today, and I'm finally feeling a little more settled with school starting back up and getting back into a routine! I found I really didn't have a lot of time over the summer to do Project Life, so I'm happy to get back to it now! I've printed off my pics for each week and now I can get them into my album.

I wanted to share some easy ways to add some extra details to your journaling cards using some paper ephemera! I used some fun die cuts from Maggie Holmes and My Mind's Eye and layered them on my Project Life cards along with some stamps to add some fun accents. I find it easiest to pull out the die cuts I think will work and then I just start layering them on until I find a position I like. Adding a few stamps over top is a nice way to anchor the design.

I used more preprinted die cuts and stamping on the second page. I find clustering the embellishments is usually an easier way to get them to work together.

On my third page I used some fun Cricut cuts from the Create A Critter cartridge and my Explore. I actually used the Write feature to write in my words, then added some Distress Inks and splatters with Dylusions Sprays. I used some Dylusions stamps to add some fun leaves to the dino cards.

On the bottom half of this page I stamped some fun Superhero images and then coloured them in with Prismacolor Markers and layered them on my Project Life Cards. I once heard someone say it made it easier for them to use stamps on their scrapbook pages by thinking of them as stickers. You simply colour in your images and then layer them on as if you were adding a sticker!

As I looked through my album I loved seeing all the journaling I had added and all the fun elements on my pages. Even though I'm a little behind I know this is something I do want to continue to do, and my kids love looking through the pages. That's what makes it all worthwhile!
