Make and take on a Saturday with Sarah, July 9, South

 

In this class students will learn how to create the Iris Shutter from Elizabeth Crafts. Students can use the add on dies to create a page for a planner, card or art journal page. Sarah will have several samples to look at also. The class will be one hour sessions from 10am-3pm. Basic Book Binding Art journal with Sarah April 2, S

Do you love the layered look? Do you want to learn basic bookbinding? Want to learn how to use Distress Oxides? In this class Sarah will show you how to create a layered look for an art journal page. We will create a small book with newspaper and create backgrounds with Distress Oxide sprays. You will also learn how to bind papers into a book and use paint and collage to get a layered look.  Supplies needed: Distress Oxide and Distress sprays, stencils, acrylic paint, non stick craft mat, two or three photos.  Kits will include supplies to make the book and a few other goodies! Mixed Media Art Journal page with Sarah TBA

Do you love Dina's collage tissue paper? Do you wonder what to do with the white printed tissue papers? In this class, Students will learn techniques for using Dina's white collage tissue papers using acrylic paint. We will then create a collage cluster to add to a page in your journal. This page can be created in the Dina Wakley art journal, Dylusions Journal, or another Mixed Media Journal with heavy paper. 

Sarah will also talk about techniques for the Denim and Burlap pages in the Dina Wakley journal.

Supplies: Dina Wakley Gesso and Gel Medium, Dina Wakley acrylic paints, Dina Wakley Stencils. Other brands of Gesso, Gel Medium and paints such as dylusions, Liquitex or craft paints can be substituted for the Dina Wakley paints. Paint brushes, water cup, black archival ink, Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher and a black paint pen will be needed also. 

Dina Wakley collage tissue papers and dictionary papers will be provided during class. 

In Classroom Technique Journal with Sarah July 29 South

 

The cost for this class is $20 and will be held in the classroom at Scrapendipity South on Thursday July 29, 2021 from 1:00-3:00 pm. The class will also be recorded and posted in a private facebook group for future reference.

In this technique based class, students will learn the benefits of using gesso on art journal pages. We will create a page using the reverse stencil method and collaged stamped images to make a focal point. A bonus page will also be created during class.   Kits will include a bottle of Dina Wakley Gesso, geli printed deli papers, dictionary papers, one sheet of Tim Holtz heavy mixed media cardstock and one sheet of Dylusions mixed media paper.   Materials needed for class: collage medium or matte gel medium, paint brush, baby wipes, acrylic paints (Sarah used Dina Wakley acrylics but any acrylic paints will work), black posca pen or thin black pen, stencils and stamps.
