This mixed media project features the Tim Holtz Colorize Die “Gladys” and Distress Wood grain
cardstock.  We will be working with a decorative napkin and some sprays to showcase the colorize die.  This layout can be done on any surface you choose, including an art journal, traveler’s notebook or canvas. 

 

Kits will include the die cut pieces, a napkin, wood grain cardstock and a quote.  Your kit will also include a detailed list of the tools & supplies you will need to have on hand.

June 7, Art Journal “Mermaid” with Kerri-Ann S

This month’s art journal page features Ciao Bella rice paper, gilding flakes and Tim Holtz Collage paper.

We will also be using stamps, stencils and metallic paints.    Kits will include Rice paper, Collage paper, a jar of Prima paint, a napkin, gems and a quote on vellum paper.  You will need to provide your own gilding flakes or Deco foil.  Your kit will include a detailed list of products you will need to have on hand for this class.

This mixed media project features a decorative napkin, some paint and stencil work and the Tim Holtz
Small Talk stickers.  This layout can be done on any surface you choose, including an art journal, traveler’s notebook or canvas. 

Kits will include the napkin, some large stamped words and some strips from Tim Holtz’ Small Talk booklet.  The supplies you will need to have on hand are:

 

Gel medium and White gesso

Glossy Accents (or similar product)

PAINT:  green/pink x2/white/black

MARKERS:  dark green

Basic Book Binding Art journal with Sarah April 2, S

Do you love the layered look? Do you want to learn basic bookbinding? Want to learn how to use Distress Oxides? In this class Sarah will show you how to create a layered look for an art journal page. We will create a small book with newspaper and create backgrounds with Distress Oxide sprays. You will also learn how to bind papers into a book and use paint and collage to get a layered look.  Supplies needed: Distress Oxide and Distress sprays, stencils, acrylic paint, non stick craft mat, two or three photos.  Kits will include supplies to make the book and a few other goodies! February 15 Art Journal “Hearts” with Kerri-Ann South

This month’s project is perfect for mixed media “newbies”.  

It is an easy page to do using very minimal
supplies.  If you have been tinkering with the idea of art journaling….this is a great one to start with.

 

This will be an “in person” class held at the south store on Tuesday, February 15.  The class will also be live in the Private Facebook Group that you will be invited to join.  If you are unable to attend the class at the store or live online, you will be able to watch the recorded class on Facebook at your convenience.

 

Kits will include gold die cuts, 1 sheet of glossy paper, red gems, purple gems, and a piece of gold Deco Foil.  The supplies you will need to have on hand are:

Dina Wakley Art Journal Class with Sarah Haug November 27th

 

We are adding a new date for this class join Sarah on Nov 27 @ 1-3 Do you love Dina's collage tissue paper? Do you wonder what to do with the white printed tissue papers? In this class, Students will learn techniques for using Dina's white collage tissue papers using acrylic paint. We will then create a collage cluster to add to a page in your journal. This page can be created in the Dina Wakley art journal, Dylusions Journal, or another Mixed Media Journal with heavy paper.  Sarah will also talk about techniques for the Denim and Burlap pages in the Dina Wakley journal. Supplies: Dina Wakley Gesso and Gel Medium, Dina Wakley acrylic paints, Dina Wakley Stencils. Other brands of Gesso, Gel Medium and paints such as dylusions, Liquitex or craft paints can be substituted for the Dina Wakley paints. This mixed media project features Tim Holtz dies (Geo Insects and Entomology) paired with a
gorgeous sunflower napkin.  Let’s get messy playing with stencils, texture paste, and layered backgrounds.  This layout can be done on any surface you choose, including an art journal, traveler’s notebook or canvas.  Don’t have a notebook/journal? No problem, you can do the project on a plain piece of cardstock or mixed media paper.  When you pick up your class kit, it will contain a list of products you will need to have on hand in order to complete the class.

Art Journal Page “Pandemic” with Kerri-Ann September 14 S

September’s Art Journal class features Dina Wakley’s Gloss Sprays and several of her stencils.  Your kit will include five assorted tags, the slotted pocket for the tags, the stamped title and a mask.  I have chosen to use the back of the tags to journal some memories from the very start of the pandemic, but you are free to personalize the tags however you wish.

 

You will need to have some of Dina Wakley’s Acrylic Gloss Sprays on hand to replicate this page.  These are NOT the same as Dylusions Sprays or Distress Stains.  You CAN do the project with those ink sprays if you wish but it will have a very different look than if you use the acrylic Gloss Sprays.  You will also need to have a few background stencils on hand (the ones I used will be listed on the class handout that is included with your kit).

In Classroom Technique Journal with Sarah July 29 South

 

The cost for this class is $20 and will be held in the classroom at Scrapendipity South on Thursday July 29, 2021 from 1:00-3:00 pm. The class will also be recorded and posted in a private facebook group for future reference.

In this technique based class, students will learn the benefits of using gesso on art journal pages. We will create a page using the reverse stencil method and collaged stamped images to make a focal point. A bonus page will also be created during class.   Kits will include a bottle of Dina Wakley Gesso, geli printed deli papers, dictionary papers, one sheet of Tim Holtz heavy mixed media cardstock and one sheet of Dylusions mixed media paper.   Materials needed for class: collage medium or matte gel medium, paint brush, baby wipes, acrylic paints (Sarah used Dina Wakley acrylics but any acrylic paints will work), black posca pen or thin black pen, stencils and stamps. July 20th Art Journal Page “Suitcases” with Kerri-Ann South

July’s Art Journal class will be slightly longer than usual as the suitcases will be made by hand (not diecut).  We will be creating MANY layers with inks and sprays. Everyone will receive the necessary cardstock to make the suitcases, some Tim Holtz Collage Paper, brads, clay embellishment, Tim Holtz Journal Tickets and some lined note paper.  I have chosen to use this page to say farewell to COVID 19, but you are free to personalize the note with whatever suits your creativity.

When you pick up your class kit, it will contain a list of products you will need to have on hand in order to complete the class.  You will receive an email TWO days prior to the class with an invitation to the live ZOOM meeting and PRIVATE FACEBOOK GROUP.  If you are unable to attend the ZOOM meeting at the scheduled time, you will be able to watch the recorded class on Facebook at your convenience.
