NAPKIN ART “Gladys” with Kerri-Ann June 23, South

This mixed media project features the Tim Holtz Colorize Die “Gladys” and Distress Wood grain
cardstock.  We will be working with a decorative napkin and some sprays to showcase the colorize die.  This layout can be done on any surface you choose, including an art journal, traveler’s notebook or canvas. 

 

Kits will include the die cut pieces, a napkin, wood grain cardstock and a quote.  Your kit will also include a detailed list of the tools & supplies you will need to have on hand.

Mixed Media Collage with Barb April 27 S

 Mixed Media with the Medium

Do you have that special something example: photo, jewelry, trinket, from a loved one Past or Present, that you would love to show case and turn into Art?
In this class we will use different mediums and mixed media to save that special piece.
Barb will help preserve that piece and who knows there maybe a special connection for you!

You Bring something special……
 photo, jewelry, piece of material, feather, coin penny dime, letter, card, flowers
anything from your stash you want to personalize your art piece with.
 Also feel free to bring paint, sprays, inks to give your frame an antique look.
You will need basic things such as trimmer, scissors, strong glue, pen for journaling.

4-5 metal trinkets for you to choose

The store will also have some small trinkets and embellishments for purchase if you so choose.

Kits will include the napkin, some large stamped words and some strips from Tim Holtz’ Small Talk booklet.  The supplies you will need to have on hand are:

Napkin Art “Crabs” with Kerri-Ann April 14, S

This is a mixed media class using a decorative napkin, paints, sprays and some Jolee’s

Boutique stickers. All skill levels welcome. A list of supplies you will need on hand will be provided in your kit. Dina Wakley Art Journal Class with Sarah Haug November 27th

 

We are adding a new date for this class join Sarah on Nov 27 @ 1-3 Do you love Dina's collage tissue paper? Do you wonder what to do with the white printed tissue papers? In this class, Students will learn techniques for using Dina's white collage tissue papers using acrylic paint. We will then create a collage cluster to add to a page in your journal. This page can be created in the Dina Wakley art journal, Dylusions Journal, or another Mixed Media Journal with heavy paper.  Sarah will also talk about techniques for the Denim and Burlap pages in the Dina Wakley journal. Do you love Dina's collage tissue paper? Do you wonder what to do with the white printed tissue papers? In this class, Students will learn techniques for using Dina's white collage tissue papers using acrylic paint. We will then create a collage cluster to add to a page in your journal. This page can be created in the Dina Wakley art journal, Dylusions Journal, or another Mixed Media Journal with heavy paper. 

Sarah will also talk about techniques for the Denim and Burlap pages in the Dina Wakley journal.

This tribute to Remembrance Day features Tim Holtz’ grit paste, Deco Foil and two kinds of gesso. We will be using clear and white gesso to create this multi level background and focal point.  Everyone will need to find a circular object for tracing that suits their own art journal size.  (Plate, Bowl, Stencil, etc.)

 

This will be an “in person” class held at the south store on Tuesday, November 9th.  The class will also be live on Zoom and recorded for the Private Facebook Group that you will be invited to join (approximately two days prior to the class).

Mixed Media Paintbrush Class with Crystal July 16th N

 Mixed Media Paintbrush Class 

Class: Mixed Media Paintbrush Class 

(Live in the classroom)

Location: North Store

In this class, Crystal will walk you through how to take an ordinary paintbrush and make it extraordinary using resin, silicone moulds, and some of the fun Prima waxes designed by Finnabair. This class is great for beginners but also fun for those more experienced. With restrictions lifted, we will be back in the North Store classroom for this class. Even with Masks, it will be so nice to be able to craft back in person. Not ready for being back in the classroom? Don't worry, Crystal will have easy to follow, step-by-step instructions for you to follow.  Kits will be available on July 16th at the start of class at the North store and can be picked up there any time after. Of course, they can be transferred to the South Store after that time as well. You will want to wear old clothing as the waxes can stain while they are wet. 

SUPPLIES PROVIDED: The Large paintbrush we are using as our canvas and resin cast pieces. 

SUPPLIES NEEDED: Black Gesso, a brush to apply gesso, and two to three of the Prima waxes (We will be getting in a few colour combinations for the class so you can purchase them that night). Call the North Store at (403) 455-6772 to make payment and reserve your spot.

This mixed media project features the Sizzix Die “Fairy Wishes”, a decorative napkin and some adhesive pearls.  Let’s get messy blending paint colors to achieve a deep layered background and finish it off with a few different sparkly mediums. 

 

This is a great class for beginners who want to dip their toes in mixed media but it’s also lots of fun for the experienced crafter.  Napkin art is perfect for a traveler’s style notebook such as the Dylusions Dylog Insert Book.  It’s just the right size (and a great place to keep all your future masterpieces)!  Don’t have a notebook/journal? No problem, you can do the project on a plain piece of cardstock.

Junque Collage Art with Selena available April 13 South

 

Treasure trove AKA: Junque Collage lol SOUTH Store PS it will look nothing like the picture, each color and assortment will be different, but I'll show you how and you can apply this technique to any surface after!! Join Selena in this venture of mystery and randomness!!! We will start with a 12x12 Canvas and a basket of trinkets. From there we will make a collage that is so fun to do, and even more fun to try and figure out what all the pieces are after! This will be a ZOOM class. (Live or viewed after ) Aside from your glues and sprays all the ingredients will be supplied. You will want to add some additional trinkets to make it your own I'm sure. Not two will look alike!!
