NEW SESSIONS added Crystal's Alcohol ink class, June 18-20-22, North

 

In this newest edition to Crystal's Alcohol ink classes, you will learn how to paint with your alcohol inks to create six cards in total (2 of each card). We will build on each technique starting with creating skies and rolling hills, then adding in more defined cloudy skies, and finally adding in a birch tree focal image. The class fee includes one alcohol ink blender pen. You will need two blue (Denim/Monsoon and Pool or aquamarine), one green (Meadow), two browns (Espresso and Latte/caramel), and pitch black alcohol ink and a fine tip Sharpie permanent marker or Copic Multi liner. There will be inks available to purchase the day of class.  Wearing old clothing and bringing a pair of nitrate gloves is encouraged. Please call the North Store at 403-455-6772 to register. Lavinia Beginners Tutorial with Kate May 11, S

           Introducing the Lavinia style of silhouette stamping, which have such wonderful detail in all the stamps. You will learn how to blend various backgrounds and all the basics of silhouette stamping.

Making and using masks for grounding, mountains or sun or moon.

We will use versafine inks for stamping and oxides or Lavinia inks for backgrounds.

Here are some examples of cards that

can easily be achieved in this basic class.

If you love the Lavinia style of stamping and would like to create beautiful backgrounds this class is the class for you. This style can easily be created for artist pieces for framing.

Please bring your Lavinia stamps, oxide and versafine

Inks. Blending brushes if you have them.

Supplies will be on hand to use if you don’t have them.

This is an introductory class and you will take home 3 cards that you have created.

The cost is $20. Wednesday 11th May 11am to 3.

Alcohol Ink Gift Set Class With Crystal, May 6 North

Have you been interested in learning about Alcohol inks and want to get a small taste before jumping into
one of the larger technique classes? or are you interested in creating a beautiful art piece to keep or give to a friend? Then this alcohol ink gift set class is a good place to start. Crystal is still having fun getting inky with her alcohol inks and decided to create a smaller class where you will create one stunning art hardboard panel plaque and a matching card with envelope using some of the new Spellbinders dies and of course her favorite Lawn Fawn dies. It is advised that you bring a pair of gloves and wear an old shirt just because we will be getting messy. Crystal will have inks available to use but encourages you to bring your favorite colors to customize your piece of art.

Getting Inky With Alcohol "The Sequel" Class, with Crystal April 9 or 23, N

Are you ready to get inky again? or did you miss the last alcohol ink class? Well, you are in luck! Crystal

has created a sequel to her popular alcohol ink class as requested by many. In this class we will be using alcohol inks, alcohol pearls, and alloys to create marbleized backgrounds, stenciled and printed backgrounds, bubbled backgrounds, lift ink backgrounds, and inky flowers. You will leave with an instruction sheet so you can replicate the looks at home and complete 8 cards. It is advised that you bring a pair of gloves and wear an old shirt just because we will be getting messy and you will need inks in the following colors:

A purple alcohol pearl ink, 
A blue alcohol pearl ink
 a yellow alcohol ink
 a brown alcohol ink
and an alloy (Crystal used the Rose alloy).

Stencil and Paste Card Class with Nancy, April 20 N

 Stencils and Pastes Card Class

 

Have you pastes at home that you have never used?  Stencils that you have only used once?  Pastes add dimension and texture. Stencils make beautiful backgrounds and/or scenes.  You will be making cards similar to the ones shown. Paper and embellishments provided.

 

Supplies:

Bring your own pastes and dye inks.  The regular list  of supplies is needed. If you do not have any pastes I suggest Ranger Texture Paste Opaque Matte.  Any dye inks will work. I used Distress: flamingo and festive berry.

Basic Book Binding Art journal with Sarah April 2, S

Do you love the layered look? Do you want to learn basic bookbinding? Want to learn how to use Distress Oxides? In this class Sarah will show you how to create a layered look for an art journal page. We will create a small book with newspaper and create backgrounds with Distress Oxide sprays. You will also learn how to bind papers into a book and use paint and collage to get a layered look.  Supplies needed: Distress Oxide and Distress sprays, stencils, acrylic paint, non stick craft mat, two or three photos.  Kits will include supplies to make the book and a few other goodies! Copics! Distress Inks! Stencils! Stamps! and now Dies, with Shari March 12 S

*****Please note that the class title has changed, as well as the date ( previously Feb 19th)and time.  And now there is a twist!!!!****

So, Shari has designed four cards already for this class, and is working on a fifth!  The twist - you get to choose which 3 cards you want to do in the class!!! Yes you read that right!  YOU get to choose which 3 cards of the 5 you will make in the class.  Shari has designed these cards so that you get to play with different mediums, stamps, stencils, Distress inks and more.  So far the cards feature stamps from Hero Arts, Impression Obsession, Woodware, Stamping Bella, Pink Ink, and the final card will feature a Stampendous Gnome stamp. Watch the Scrapendipity Customer corner on Facebook as Shari will post the fifth card as soon as possible. This class is full of coloring and  techniques, so the classroom has been booked for 4 hours!! Deadline to order your choice of the 3 cards is Tuesday, March 9th to give Shari time to get your kits ready. Due to the amount of in class techniques needed to complete the cards, this is only an in store class, kits will not be available to take home.

Copics, Oxides, Stamps and more with Shari March 12, S

 

Copics? Oxides? Stamps?!! I don't know!!! Well then how about stencils???? Or...... With Shari at the South store. NEW DATE Shari is working on her next Copic class and has lots of ideas that may or may not involve all of the above.....or none of them, oh my!!! The only things that are definitely in the class are Stamping Bella, Pink Ink, Impression Obsession and Hero Arts images.....maybe!!! Oh dear, does she even know what's going to be included in the class. Nothing like a little anticipation to make things exciting!!! You will need Copics and blending brushes plus your basic supplies. Once you sign up for the class you'll get the supply list and some sneak peeks of the finished cards.!! Galaxy Card Class with Nancy February 23 N

Let's have fun with alcohol inks. Create 3 brilliant galaxies!  Such vibrant backgrounds!

During this class, you will make 1 slimline and 2  regular cards-5 1/2 by 4 1/4.  We will explore using alcohol inks with an easy Press technique inspired by Jennifer Maguire. The dies I am using are Fancy Mushroom and Ferns by Hero Arts and the stamps are Wonderful World by I -crafter.

Supplies: Alcohol Inks and Blending solution. I like the Ranger brand but bring any other brand that you have. Nuvo glitter drops(white blizzard) or any glitter drops you have 

Colors: Indigo, Boysenberry, Alloy Stirling, Sunshine yellow, limeade, gumball, aquamarine.

Black stamping pad Jet Black. New to alcohol ink-- do not worry I keep it simple.

Do you a have a collection of Brushos, Colourburst, or Nuvo Shimmer Powders and want to know how to use them?  Join me on January 15, 2022 from 11am-2pm for a Play Date featuring Colourburst and other watercolour powders. For a toonie you can create a tag, card or bring your art journal and create a quick and easy colourful background. Dylusions Ink Technique January 29 S

 

Wanna get messy with Dylusions Inks? Do you want to learn how to make gorgeous backgrounds with Dylusions Inks? Wanna Break the rules? Join me on January 29, 2022 from 1-3pm in the classroom at Scrapendipity South. In this class you'll learn how to make several gorgeous, colorful backgrounds in a Dylusions Journal. Techniques will include: ghosting, spritz and flip and how to finish a page. Dylusions stamps and ink will be available in the classroom during class.  Each student should have their own Dylusions Journal to create in and several bottles of Dylusions Inks. The techniques for this class work best on the Dylusions paper with Dylusions Inks.  $15.00 please call the South store to register 403-457-7790

What makes Distress Oxide inks different from the  regular Distress Inks? One of the best things about the oxide line of inks is that they ink beautifully on dark colors, and even kraft paper.  Shari has designed a card using the Pink Fresh Studio Poinsettia stencil and several colors of oxides, and is inviting you to the North store to come and play with both. Cost is only $2.00 per card, so you can choose one or more cards to complete.  Classroom space is limited to 6 people at a time, so please let Shari know what time you are coming to play by emailing her at s.mclaughlin8@shaw.ca. One card should only take less than half an hour to complete. Times are 10:30am, 11am, 11:30am, 12 noon, 12:30pm, 1pm and 1:30pm. Payment can be made on the day of the class.

In the class you will make 3 simple yet stunning cards with just a tiny bit of washi tape and some gold foil embellishments and sentiments.  'Christmas is Coming'
Did you know that all of those wonderful Distress Ink Reinkers you have at home can be used for more than just reinking your dry ink pad? With the addition of a waterbrush, or paint brushes you can use your reinkers to color any image you want! Join Shari in this class to learn how to paint with your reinkers. You will be making three wonderful cards - a group of Stampendous snowmen, a pair of Stampendous Cardinals, and a wonderful Colorado Craft image that with the addirion of Vintage Beeswax embossing powder, reflects an aged card.
