February 15 Art Journal “Hearts” with Kerri-Ann South

This month’s project is perfect for mixed media “newbies”.  

It is an easy page to do using very minimal
supplies.  If you have been tinkering with the idea of art journaling….this is a great one to start with.

 

This will be an “in person” class held at the south store on Tuesday, February 15.  The class will also be live in the Private Facebook Group that you will be invited to join.  If you are unable to attend the class at the store or live online, you will be able to watch the recorded class on Facebook at your convenience.

 

Kits will include gold die cuts, 1 sheet of glossy paper, red gems, purple gems, and a piece of gold Deco Foil.  The supplies you will need to have on hand are:

 

ACRYLIC PAINT:  3-4 purple shades, 3-4 red shades, black, gold, royal blue

Gold metallic wax (Example:  *Prima Art Alchemy: Vintage Gold)

Markers:  Gold + Black

Stickles: Red

Glue

'Love You to the Moon' layout kit class with Selena July 12

 Selena has taken the guess work out of this Die Cut based page layout. You will get the                                 "Love you to the Moon "  cut out and a selection of backings to remake this fun page. Two color schemes, the one shown and a blue version ( different paper, I showed on facebook live) only 3 blue kits available.

Instructions will be emailed to you upon picking up your kit. All the goodies seen are included :-)

NAPKIN ART August 17th “Bloom” with Kerri-Ann South

This mixed media project features the Sizzix Die “Fairy Wishes”, a decorative napkin and some adhesive pearls.  Let’s get messy blending paint colors to achieve a deep layered background and finish it off with a few different sparkly mediums. 

 

This is a great class for beginners who want to dip their toes in mixed media but it’s also lots of fun for the experienced crafter.  Napkin art is perfect for a traveler’s style notebook such as the Dylusions Dylog Insert Book.  It’s just the right size (and a great place to keep all your future masterpieces)!  Don’t have a notebook/journal? No problem, you can do the project on a plain piece of cardstock.

 

When you pick up your class kit, it will contain a list of products you will need to have on hand in order to complete the class.  You will receive an email TWO days prior to the class with an invitation to the live ZOOM meeting and PRIVATE FACEBOOK GROUP.  If you are unable to attend the ZOOM meeting at the scheduled time, you will be able to watch the recorded class on Facebook at your convenience.

July 20th Art Journal Page “Suitcases” with Kerri-Ann South

July’s Art Journal class will be slightly longer than usual as the suitcases will be made by hand (not diecut).  We will be creating MANY layers with inks and sprays. Everyone will receive the necessary cardstock to make the suitcases, some Tim Holtz Collage Paper, brads, clay embellishment, Tim Holtz Journal Tickets and some lined note paper.  I have chosen to use this page to say farewell to COVID 19, but you are free to personalize the note with whatever suits your creativity.

Technique Art Journal Class with Sarah July 10 South

 

NEW CLASS NEW TEACHER! We welcome the talented Sarah to our teaching staff! She will introduce a "How to" with gesso in case you have wondered but been afraid to try! In this technique based class, students will learn the benefits of using gesso on art journal pages. We will create a page using the reverse stencil method and collaged stamped images to make a focal point. A bonus page will also be created during class.   Kits will include a bottle of Dina Wakley Gesso, geli printed deli papers, dictionary papers, one sheet of Tim Holtz heavy mixed media cardstock and one sheet of Dylusions mixed media paper.   Materials needed for class: collage medium or matte gel medium, paint brush, baby wipes, acrylic paints (Sarah used Dina Wakley acrylics but any acrylic paints will work), black posca pen or thin black pen, stencils and stamps. Sarah used Dina Wakley Scribbly Women but any stamps will work. Saturday July 10 from 1:00-3:00 pm  Cost for the class is $25 which includes the kit. Buttercream Stencil Zoom Class & Kit with Lyndsey June 26 SOUTH

 

Hello Ladies! Have you wanted to play with the glorious ButterCream Pastes that Selena and Dianne have demonstrated, but were too nervous to do it yourself? Well this is the class for you!!! I have assembled all of the product, and put it into a kit, and we will get together via Zoom to play together! This is so much fun! As you can see, all of the product is included. All you need to have on hand is a palate knife, a paint brush, a spray bottle of water, and a pan of water (large enough to hold your stencil). PLEASE CHOOSE CLASS A, B, or C, when calling in we have limited kits on each class so if you want a specific kit call early :-) The Zoom class will be available to re-watch over and over after the class is done. Mini album with Melody preorder June 1st, SOUTH

 

"Back to School" - Already? A mini-album made out of the wonderful new "I Love School" paper pack from Echo Park Paper Co. Along with these papers and the wonderful inspiration from the girls from Scrapbooker's Bliss comes a new take on an old idea, using school supplies to enhance this book. Rulers, paperclips and the original brown bag make up the extras to embellish this project. Have some fun with the basics and learn how you can use some of the items you have in your home to make this book that much more interesting. The kit comes with all the basic papers you will need to complete the project and has a complete set of instructions (with pictures) so you can do this project at your own pace. Holiday Playtime Colorized Frames Class PU December 12

Many people were asking Crystal to do the 'Tim Holtz Colorized Toy Bag' as a frame so she obliged. 

This kit will include: detailed, colored, layer by layer instructions to complete two frames from start to finish.  

Crystal's secret is to use tweezers, a jewel picker (embellishment tool) and liquid adhesive with a fine time applicator.  

 Inks in the following Distress colors are optional: Fired Brick, Ground Espresso, and Peacock Feathers.  Please note that frame color may vary depending on availability.

Happy Monday my crafty friends. Its so nice to meet with you virtually during these uncertain time. It makes me so happy to see all the smiling faces and share my creative passion. Wow Novembers make and take was a popular one.  I think it was a record for the most kits I have ever prepared. Dec 17 is my next virtual Make and take. I figure we will be ready to move away from wintery cards and create a fun 3D birthday/all Occasion card.  The colors in the kits will vary. As mail will be moving slower during Dec, I will have to send kits by Dec 7 to be sure they arrive in time for class. As always kits are available for pick up or to be mailed out. Email hollyth@shaw.ca to sign up. Be sure to sign up by Dec7.   Or if you want to pick up or have it sent out. Stay safe, stay positive, this too will pass.

Take and Make with Lindsey December 3rd

 

Hello Ladies

As you know, we are having to postpone any in-person classes.

So we are back to Take ’N’ Make...

Hopefully we can get back to in-person soon!

This week we are creating a dimensional card, complete with sparkles and sequins!

Super cute, and folds down to mail, this Take’N’Make is easy to assemble, and will “Wow” your lucky recipient.

To complete this card you will need colors for the lightbulbs, glossy accents (optional), adhesive, and something sparkly and white for “snow” and “snowflakes”.
