Lavinia Beginners Tutorial with Kate May 11, S

           Introducing the Lavinia style of silhouette stamping, which have such wonderful detail in all the stamps. You will learn how to blend various backgrounds and all the basics of silhouette stamping.

Making and using masks for grounding, mountains or sun or moon.

We will use versafine inks for stamping and oxides or Lavinia inks for backgrounds.

Here are some examples of cards that

can easily be achieved in this basic class.

If you love the Lavinia style of stamping and would like to create beautiful backgrounds this class is the class for you. This style can easily be created for artist pieces for framing.

Please bring your Lavinia stamps, oxide and versafine

Inks. Blending brushes if you have them.

Supplies will be on hand to use if you don’t have them.

This is an introductory class and you will take home 3 cards that you have created.

Do you have that special something example: photo, jewelry, trinket, from a loved one Past or Present, that you would love to show case and turn into Art?
In this class we will use different mediums and mixed media to save that special piece.
Barb will help preserve that piece and who knows there maybe a special connection for you!

You Bring something special……
 photo, jewelry, piece of material, feather, coin penny dime, letter, card, flowers
anything from your stash you want to personalize your art piece with.
 Also feel free to bring paint, sprays, inks to give your frame an antique look.
You will need basic things such as trimmer, scissors, strong glue, pen for journaling.

Colorized Gladys the Flamingo Frames Class with Crystal, April 11, N

Crystal has been at it again! This time she has Gladys the Flamingo enjoying a splash in the water.  If you, have you always been intimidated by the colorized dies by Tim Holtz, Crystal will help break it down layer by layer, with color coordinated directions. She will walk you through step-by-step and give you some tips and tricks along the way to make these dies a breeze. We will be inking the background and pairing her with some Lawn Fawn die cut grass and cattails to really make her pop out of the frame. You will also be given feathers so you can add some extra sass to her if you want. Please note that frame color may vary depending on availability and the class only includes one frame. Get your Christmas Spirit and Christmas paper ready to make this beautiful Victoria Lantern. You can purchase beautiful Christmas paper at Scrapendipity or bring in some you already have. Your paper needs to be delivered to the store one week before class to allow time to get cut for the class.
You’ll need the following number of papers: 2 gold 12x12 (glitter makes it pretty), 2 dark green 12x12, 1 light green (that’s the holly so can also be a scrap but must be at least 5”x8”) 1 white (can be a scrap but must be at least 8”x7”), and 6 red 12x12, 2 your choice 12x12 for lining of the top of the lantern.
Step by step instructions in class will show you how it all goes together.
You will need fast drying glue and please bring all your basic supplies and get ready to put this beautiful lantern together.

Harrison the Lion Colorized Frames Class with Crystal November 20 N

We will be inking the sunrise background and placing him on an African patterned cliff. NOTE: This class includes one lion and frame, you will have the choice to make him fluffy or not. 'HOME' Decor sign class October 6 N

 

STARTER "HOME" @ the north store Welcome to something different we are going to do a series of Home "O"s The first class we will decorate the word home and one "O" I have three to choose from and there will be different price points. After this class we will be working on additional "O"s but... you can start anytime and I can show you how to decorate HOME in any of the classes. The plan is to run one every 2nd month? We will see ( hello my guinea pigs lol) Pricing is as follows: $45.00 (included in price is the word HOME and one replacement "O") if you have your own "Home" $20.00 (included in price one replacement "O") if you have everything $12.00 to join us ONLY 3 of each "O" please specify which one you would like.When I decorate them I will post but remember you can use your own paper or you will get to pick a piece from the store. Mine was done long ago, your paper will be different. She has almost finished her next colorized frame class creation where she will transport you into a magical world of wonder.  If you have been intimidated by the Tim Holtz colorized dies, not to fear, Crystal breaks it down layer by layer with color coordinated instructions and a picture of the final frame. To get the same look you will need distress inks and oxides which will be listed in the instructions. Many people were asking Crystal to do the 'Tim Holtz Colorized Toy Bag' as a frame so she obliged. 

This kit will include: detailed, colored, layer by layer instructions to complete two frames from start to finish.  

Crystal's secret is to use tweezers, a jewel picker (embellishment tool) and liquid adhesive with a fine time applicator.  

 Inks in the following Distress colors are optional: Fired Brick, Ground Espresso, and Peacock Feathers.  Please note that frame color may vary depending on availability.

Resin Pour Class with Crystal December 5th

Date: December 5th

Session 1: 10:30-12:00

Session 2: 1:00-2:30

Cost: $50 plus tax

The first resin pour class was a smashing hit, so Crystal is running a second version using warm tones. Crystal will provide almost all of the supplies you need to complete an 8”x10” canvas. You will need a pair of rubber or vinyl gloves and can bring any small found objects you may want to add to your creations. Please note, the projects will need to stay at the store until Monday to allow the resin time to harden. Final results will vary. Call the store to reserve your spot at 403-455-6772.
