For this week’s make and take we will be learning two quick and easy messy painting techniques with Distress Oxide inks to create a stunning floral card and a tag you can turn into a card at home. You will have a number of sentiments to choose from and the kit is complete with an envelope. Please email crystalroefs@hotmail.com to let Crystal know what time you would prefer (10, 11, 12, 1, 2, 3, or 4) and how many kits you would like. You will need adhesive and a small paintbrush. If you are unable to attend just let Crystal know which store you will be picking up from but please note they MUST be PRE-PAID in advance. These can be done with a watercolour medium or pencil crayon for take and makes.

September’s Art Journal class features Dina Wakley’s Gloss Sprays and several of her stencils.  Your kit will include five assorted tags, the slotted pocket for the tags, the stamped title and a mask.  I have chosen to use the back of the tags to journal some memories from the very start of the pandemic, but you are free to personalize the tags however you wish.

 

You will need to have some of Dina Wakley’s Acrylic Gloss Sprays on hand to replicate this page.  These are NOT the same as Dylusions Sprays or Distress Stains.  You CAN do the project with those ink sprays if you wish but it will have a very different look than if you use the acrylic Gloss Sprays.  You will also need to have a few background stencils on hand (the ones I used will be listed on the class handout that is included with your kit).

 

This will be an “in person” class held at the south store on Tuesday, September 14^th.  The class will also be recorded for the Private Facebook Group that you will receive an invitation to approximately two days prior to the class.  If you are unable to attend the class at the store, you will be able to watch the recorded class on Facebook at your convenience.

An easy to make layered card that is vintage, rustic and fun. Every card is unique just as the rusty, distressed paper is different. You will need a brown ink and some basic tools to complete this card. Make and Take – I Think I see Him

Time to get started on your Christmas stash of cards.  This is a Pinwheel Design card that when open stands on its own for display and fits into an A2 sized envelope.  It is easy to make and is an unusual design.

In addition to your Basic Card Kit, you will need to bring double-sided tape or adhesive to assemble, Wink of Stella Clear for window glass, Faded Jeans Distress Ink and applicator (any dark blue will work), coloring medium of your choice (Copic list included in instructions).  If you would like a list of Copics ahead of the class let Doreen know and she will email a list to you in advance.

This Make and Take is in the SOUTH store, please email Doreen directly at bgscott@shaw.ca  to let her know how many kits you would like and what time – 10 am, 11 am, 12 pm, 1 pm, 2 pm, 3 pm, 4 pm.  Each kit is $5.00 cash.  if you can’t attend but would like a kit, email Doreen and indicate number of kits and store of your choice for pick-up.  KITS MUST BE PREPAID TO DOREEN

In the NORTH classroom August 12

For this week’s make and take we will be using Simon Hurley’s stamping foam to create an inky background for our sweet little fairy silhouette complete with glittery wings and a crystal orb. Crystal will have a variety of sentiments for you to choose from. Please email crystalroefs@hotmail.com to let Crystal know what time you would prefer, (10, 11, 12, 1, 2, 3, or 4) how many kits you would like, and what colour card base you would like. All you need is your adhesive. If you are unable to attend in person but want a kit, just let Crystal know which store you will be picking up from but please note the MUST be PRE-PAID in advance. Cost is $5 each and they come with envelopes.

Mintay Mini Album Class with Crystal August 14th N

 

Class: Mintay Mini Album Location: North Store IN CLASSROOM Date: August 14th Time: 10-5 (With an hour lunch break) Cost: $75 plus tax Crystal fell in love with the Mintay Nightfall paper line as soon as she saw it and felt like a mini album was the best way to show off the beauty of this stunning paper. We will be altering a 49th and Market Foundations album to add flaps, pockets, and little hide-aways to tuck photos, journaling cards, tags, and memorabilia. Then we will finish the front cover using resin pieces and Prima metallic waxes. You will also be provided with a cut apart sheet and matching cardstock to mat photos and make the album your own. Space is limited due to availability of albums so payment upon registration is required to reserve your spot. Call the North Store at 403-455-6772 register.
