Fun Friday with Pam

The wings were cut with TH die 'Wings' from white coffee filters. As you can see they accept the color wonderfully.
I sprayed the wings in black and blue shades. Using a piece of heavy art paper underneath. I think it will make for an interesting art journal page background...stay tuned
Paper is TH emboss paintable. I did a dry fit, I didn't like where the bird was going to be on the layout. So, I recut and pasted it together so the bird was in the lower left hand corner.
Once it is pasted back together you can not tell I did this. I used a thin strip of paper and glued it to the back, spanning the seams.
To alter the bird and background, I used spritzes of color and a baby wipe.
It didn't matter that the bird on the paper is not a raven. I manipulated the image with spray, ink and then the assembled wings.
This is my favorite hint for positioning your sticky back letters. Lay them gently on a clear plastic sheet {or the packaging it comes in} This way you can move them around till you are sure of where you want them to be secured.

Happy New Year Art Journal Page!

Hi there friends! Karla here, and I was recently making an art journal page, inspired by the amazing and talented Vicky Papaioannou's New Year Art Journal video, and thought I'd make a little tutorial. Sometimes when you look at a mixed media piece it's hard to pull apart the layers and see where to start. It's really not that hard and following these steps you can create your own piece - either in an art journal, on a canvas, or even on a tag.

Here's a look at my art journal page in my Dylusions Art Journal:

And here are some step by step directions to get you started:

I used a white gel pen to write down my goals and add a few details around the page.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope this inspires you to get out some paints and inks and have fun playing!

Fun Friday with Pam

Well, here we are and I have to say I am happy to see January almost gone. This is the month we all turn to better organizing our spaces. Especially after the Christmas Chaos. {who still has their tree up?} no shame, just wondering if I am alone.....
I thought I would share a few pictures of my latest attempts at getting the clutter
{necessary stash} under control.
How am I doing that you may ask ?
...You can read about the beginning's and progress on my
home blog HERE
Yesterday I installed these:
Milk crates, just waiting for the paper that will fill them....
{Fear not I do have the paper on hand}
This is going to be the new hanging files. A ten foot blasting rod that was found on our property when we first moved here. I have had these things, it seems like  forever waiting for the right project.
In summary....if you haven't guessed, I have taken over another room in the house.
I am going to call this one 'The Studio'.
The new room is large enough for two tables that can seat 12 comfortably.
I hope to have classes here, maybe day retreats?
I am always searching for great ideas.
Please do tell.....
