Camp Croppin

This was my first year at comp croppin, and I must say. it was awesome! Of course my highlight was meeting the Graphic 45 girls, but the whole weekend was great! I took 3 classes and the projects were so fun and creative. In Graphic 45 we made an envelope book, in Pink Paislee a page layout, and In Canvas corp we worked on a canvas, but backwards we worked in the inside of it. Very cute! There were TONS of door prizes! we were all lucky enuff to win at least once too! But the hotel was pretty, the scrapbook room was laid out perfect, the camping decorating was so cute and the make and takes were fabulous! I really didn't know what to expect but it was a first class, well put together crop and I will be there next year!
Me, Megan ( Bo Bunny ) Gloria, Jeri ( Bo Bunny ) and Lisa
Holly, Lisa and me waiting for our Graphic 45 class
Charee and Aimee from Graphic 45

.... and then Saturday night off to Calgary Expo I ran.....

Altered Book

Happy Wednesday Everyone!
I love altered things, and I have been wanting to do an altered book for awhile now, I just couldn't pin down the topic, should I do my Mom? my Grandmother? I couldn't decide and then it hit me.... Four Generations.... then I don't have to choose!!

First I had to find an old book, which I did, a very old book from 1926..... and then I couldn't do it, I couldn't wreck it.... so I chose a new book, and made it look old......
I inked all the edges, and sides and added some random smudges.... I found 2 great frames, one from Prima and one from Kaiser. Added pictures and Glossy accents.
The Prima frame I used alcohol ink to make it more aniquey, rather that the stark white it started out as.
I used the Tim Holtz banner die and made a four generations sign. Added some Prima bling and Prima flower stems,
I used ribbon to keep the book together and attached a Prima trinket.
Here's a close up of the inked edges. Very fun project to do, and I'm glad I finally got it made! Have a happy scrappy day! Hop over to Scrapbooker's Paradise to see the complete list of  supplies.

Spring is for Butterflies

Hello All! It's time for the new featured product. Between April 16 - 30 1" Score Tape is on sale. Regular
price $ 11.99 on sale for $9.99. If you are ordering online please quote "FIST" in the comments section of your order. Score Tape comes in many sizes and also sheets, and has many uses! Aside from being a great adhesive it's fun to use with glitter!

First step was cut a piece of plastic approximately the size of my die.I needed a little wider than 1" so I just added a small piece. There are wider tapes available, I just didn't have one on hand today.
Next, get my die ready, in this case the Easter Findings by Sizzix, I love the butterfly on this die!
Cut out my butterfly...
With a light touch using my Prima blade I cut strips into the backing of the tape so I could reveal the sticky parts bit by bit, and make my pattern. You could draw, or use a pattern, I just free handed  some simple markings.
Then I used the microfine glitters, and covered the sticky part with a color of choice.
Then I cut more slits in the backing of the tape....
and used a second color. You could make this as intricate or simple as you choose.
Then I peeled the last of the backing, used my third color and I have a pretty embellishment for one of my Jamaica pages!
Hope you can use this tip, have a great day.

Hockey Night in Canada

It is the season..... and since I am always doing flowery, girlie pages I decided to rough it up a bit and do some Hockey!
This was kinda fun, cut the words, or a picture or any embellishment into strips and glue them back together, pop it up and I have a kewl page add on!
I have lots of girl stuff to scrap, so for boys I was at a loss.... random eyelets seemed to play out as a good idea! I sprayed black and white glimmer mist on the back page to give it some dimension, and glitter.... I was trying to make it look like ice lol, that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!
Have a great Tuesday everyone! Head on over to Scrapbooker's Paradise to see the complete list of supplies.

Sweet 16

Ok, back from Jamaica and onto scrapbooking. I will have some trip pix soon to scrap,
ok LOTS of trip pix :-)
If you know Maddie, you know she beats to her own drum, WHICH I love about her! On her 16th birthday we went shopping for her party dress..... a wedding dress for her tea party...... she did look LOVELY that day.....
I can't seem to get enuff of these 2 dies from Tim Holtz, the caged bird and the sewing room, even tho I don't sew, or have a bird... I have used the dies many many times! First I cut out the dress form, then I wrapped the birdcage with tulle, studded it with bling and attached it to the form.  Tied a pink bow, added some lace, and voila I have a cute dress...
Leave it to Mr. Holtz to come up with new and exciting products every year. I thot these cards were so cute I just " had to have them" :-)
The cards come distressed with the black already on them, and I added Victorian Velvet and Worn Lipstick to the mix. Then I stickled the numbers and letters with Crystal. The word band says "Life is about creating yourself" a motto Maddie lives by daily!
"You look lovely today" was stickled, and she does doesn't she? You can see the tulle layer better in this picture.
Another view of lovely...I inked the flowers and added some bling.
The end result :-) The buttons on the bottom are from the Sewing room die, I inked the edge and coated them with Glossy accents. I added some pearls and I have a lovely page. Hope you enjoyed :-)
Have a happy scrappy day
