Fun Friday ' Eerie Nights'......with Pam

The Witching Hour is fast approaching.
A little WICKED for Halloween
Starts with this
Here is a close up of the feathered black owl bit of fluff in the corner. I couldn't get details with the full shot.
I did some strategic fussy cutting based on where the letters sat. I traced around them making sure to note the positioning of key elements I wanted to keep. The moon's, tree branches, stuff like that. Remember you can cut and paste till you get the overall look you want.
I used black chalk paint to cover the inside edges from the back to save transfer to the pattern paper. As seen in this photo, I didn't secure the large moon and tree branches till after the paint dried.

 The fun is in the details, I cricut cut a spooky fence and secured it to the back of the letters.
Have a fun Halloween!
 Thanks Pinterest for these ideas!

Two Fall Cards!

Hi Friends! Karla here today with some Fall cards I made a couple weeks ago for World Cardmaking Day.  I thought I should share them here while Fall is still in the air!

For first card I layered a handcut vellum banner over a woodgrain paper background and tucked some diecut leaves behind it.

 Then, I used the 'thankful' and pumpkin cut files from Creative Scrapbooker Magazine - it's free and  you can download it here along with other free files!

I used some Fancy Free patterned paper behind my pumpkin and added some sequins and a couple drops of yellow Izink. Some faux stitching using a red pen on the vellum finished it off.

For my second card I watercoloured a cute little pumpkin girl stamp sitting on a tree stump, both older stamps from C.C. Designs. I masked off the girl to make her look like she was sitting directly on top of the stump and then used Distress and Tombow markers to watercolour the image before fussy cutting her out.

I layered her over a diecut background and backed the cut with BoBunny papers from the Believe collection. I love the look of different papers behind a diecut!!

Inside, I added a sentiment and pumpkin image that I coloured in with coloured pencils.

I added some pretty sequins and a button from the 28 Lilac Lane collection, and used a cute little ribbon across the top of my card. I gave this to my niece at Thanksgiving, which in Canada was a couple weeks ago, and she loved it!

This is my last post here on the Design Team at the Scrapendipity Blog. I will miss you all and thank Selena so much for having me! You can always find me on my blog Creative Love Affair - and of course at the Scrapendipity store! Thanks so much for stopping by today, and I hope you have a wonderful, crafty week!

Fun Friday Frame Folding Tutorial with Pam

 or If I were a card maker...
This is a folding technique that will work with paper as well as with fabric, if you are so inclined! The sample shows two layers of framing.
 I worked on a sheet of white cardstock, to make sure I didn't get any transfer of whatever could be lurking on my desktop. If you know what I mean?
For the sake of simplicity: The center {internet generated photo}
is 3"x3" the pink cardstock is 5"x5" so exactly one inch larger all the way around than the photo. The outside frame of that finished piece also was one inch larger.
1. Center your photo exactly in the middle of the cardstock. Secure in place with glue.
2. Next using your 'bone folding tool'
 {I couldn't find mine on the afore mentioned desk....}
Fold each corner to just barely touch the corner of your photo. This will ensure a nice frame finish.
3.Next fold the long sides to meet your corner folds. Continue this all the way around your project.
This is the view before securing the frame down with glue or double sided tape.
Honestly this took mere minutes to complete. I am sure to be using it on future fabric as well as scrapbooking project. NOTE: If you are using fabric, use an iron to crease your fold lines. You might want to add a fuseable pelon lining to keep your fabric from fraying. Or you could allow a 2" border and fold twice. The first fold will be just outside your center piece, the second would lap onto the center for a tidy finish.
How I feel about snow....
